I’ve always been fascinated by animals, though mostly from a distance. It was only through direct contact with the dogs on Lombok, especially with our Lomdog Coco, that my perspective changed.
Their resilience in the face of often difficult circumstances, as well as their complex social communication with other dogs and with humans, showed me just how nuanced and intelligent their world is.
The poor living conditions there ultimately motivated me to actively work to improve their situation.
