When I went to Lombok in 2024 for my compulsory internship, I saw first-hand the enormous challenges faced by the stray dogs there. During my internship, I supported Lomdogs, formerly known as Shelter for Lombok Dogs, at events and in the areas of content creation and social media. In doing so, I not only witnessed the suffering and difficult living conditions of the dogs, but also saw just how much work, passion and dedication goes into the animal welfare work on the ground.

The longer I was there, the more I wanted to contribute myself. Together with another volunteer, we came up with the idea of setting up our own merchandise stall on site. What started small quickly became an important additional source of donations. The high demand eventually led to us bringing the merchandise to Germany as well.

Even though I cannot rescue every dog myself and cannot be there permanently, I want my work to help give them a better future and a voice.
